This section is the per-component reference for the COSMOS / ORBIT testbeds: every domain you can reserve, every node and chassis-manager generation, every radio device and antenna, the support infrastructure that ties them together, and the integrated subsystems built on top.
The pages here describe what the hardware is. For how to use it, see Getting Started, Tutorials, and Software.

A reservation always targets a specific domain — an isolated environment with its own console and control network. The domains form three tiers.
| Domain | Where | Description |
|---|---|---|
| BED | West Harlem rooftops, NYC | The main COSMOS testbed: outdoor SDRs, 28 GHz mmWave PAAM, O-RAN-compliant base stations, optical x-haul, edge compute. |
| Grid | WINLAB, Rutgers, NJ | The indoor testbed (legacy ORBIT 20×20 radio grid) plus Massive-MIMO mini-racks and CAWIS noise-injection. |
Reservable by any testbed user. Each has a focused capability:
| Subdomain | Where | What's special |
|---|---|---|
| Sandboxes | NJ + NYC | Small isolated 2-node-and-up environments for development and debugging — sb1, sb2, sb3, sb4, sb9, plus sb1.cosmos, sb2.cosmos, instrument.cosmos |
| Outdoor | WINLAB site + Busch campus, NJ | Fixed and mobile outdoor radio nodes, netbooks, and Android phones across the WINLAB facility |
| Minicity | Rutgers Livingston, NJ | Smart-intersection sandbox — vehicle-and-roadside-unit testbed with cameras, lidar, 5 GHz / mmWave radios |
| Weeks | West Harlem rooftop, NYC | Dedicated rooftop SDR site separate from the main BED deployment |
The following are allocated to specific COSMOS projects and not generally available for open reservation:

|---|---|---|
| IBM PAAM | 28 GHz dual-polarisation phased-array transceivers (mmWave) | subsystems/ibm |
| Sivers | mmWave RF front-end | subsystems/sivers |
| ID EdgeLink | InterDigital edge networking platform | subsystems/idedgelink |
| ID Performance | InterDigital performance monitoring stack | subsystems/idperformance |
| Compute | Edge servers, GPU-equipped hosts, back-end machines |
| Optical | OpenROADM x-haul, FibroLan PTP-aware Ethernet switches, free-space optical |
| Network | Data-plane switches, control-plane DHCP/DNS, console interconnect |
A few sections are stubs or planned for the current build-out wave. They're listed here so the structure is visible even before the content lands:
/hardware/fdevices/csdr/gusrp is written (Phase 4)bdomains/csandboxes per-sandbox pages: SB1, SB3, SB9 (Phase 2 — SB2 and SB4 pages already exist)If you spot a hardware item that isn't represented anywhere on this tree, please tell us —
